AirTeamImages was established in 2003 by the world renowned aviation photographer Derek Pedley. The company has grown rapidly over the years and has become by far the world’s largest and most respected aviation stock image library. The vast on-line collection covers all aspects of aviation from the very early years of flight in both civil and military aircraft through to today’s modern aircraft types, airports and the many varied aerospace industries.

About Our Photographers

We believe our photographers to be amongst the very best in the business, not just because they are skilled in their aviation photography craft, but because many have strong and respected associations within the aviation industry. At AirTeamImages we can truly say we know our subject matter inside out. Furthermore, by incorporating photographers who work with and fly aircraft, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance operatives, aviation historians, writers and editors we are able to obtain the ‘wow’ images which would normally be impossible for any others to obtain from anywhere else.

In addition to their skills and knowledge, our photographers have been selected for their expertise in many particular areas of aviation, this way we can offer a complete and balanced view of everything from small single prop ‘flying for pleasure aircraft’ to the complex flight decks of today’s large modern airliners, military aircraft from the worlds air forces to warbirds and gliders, hot air balloons and even space travel.

We are always on the lookout for talented new photographers or collectors of old aircraft slides/photos who would add to our team and enhance our photo library. Can you answer yes to the following questions:

  1. Do you use quality pro standard SLR camera and lenses? Our clients demand the very best quality high resolution images so we must insist that our photographers use the latest professional standard cameras and lenses. For slides, transparencies or photo scanning do you have and are you competent in producing high resolution digital scans?
  2. Are you competent in post processing images to our high commercial standards?
  3. Are you comfortable with and are prepared to be a fully committed ‘team player’? Are prepared to work within our respected professional team environment? Are you happy to put other members within the team or the company’s interest above that of your own? At AirTeamImages we pride ourselves that we work together as one for the good of all members within the team.
  4. Can you add to our site? We only require additional members who are going to add to and not duplicate other members work. Maybe you take photos from an interesting airport or part of the world that we do not yet cover well or perhaps you have special access either as a crew member, airport worker, aircraft maintenance or at an aircraft manufacturer. We encourage our photographers to think outside the box and create new and dynamic eye catching images for our clients and you will need to show us that you have images that will add to the collection. We are also very interested in taking on new members who have historical slide and photo collections as we very much wish to cover the whole history of aviation from the very beginning of flight.
  5. Are you willing to commit fully and exclusively for the commercial sale of your images? members of AirTeamImages are willing to show and give 100% commitment to the business and the other members within the team and as such receive in return a good and fair sales commission for the images, prints and gifts that are sold. At AirTeamImages we are very proud to be unique in that we work professionally together for what is best for all our photographers, our clients and our site visitors. It is important to note that AirTeamImages is not like any other stock agency that have sprung in recent years who promise photographers much but deliver little.
