The Challenger 600 series are medium to long range wide-body corporate jets. The original design was by Bill Lear and produced first by Canadair until that company was bought by Bombardier Aerospace in 1986.
The first production version of the CL600 family, it was notable for having the widest and highest cabin of its type, it allowed passengers to get up and walk about. The 600 version was restricted by lack of power.
