Image Description:
This AW189 operates the Search and Rescue Service for military personnel on The Falkland Islands. It is also used for MEDEVAC services around the islands. Here it is picking up an emergency MEDEVAC from the hospital in Stanley, (just out of picture), to Mount Pleasant Airbase, where the casualty will eventually be flown out either to Uruguay or Chile. The helicopter uses the sports field of the nearby Secondary School as a landing area.
