- At the time of this photo, this aircraft was the oldest one in Delta's fleet and likely the oldest aircraft in regular operation with a U.S. passenger airline. It was delivered 11/26/1984. Less than two months after this photo it was finally retired to be scrapped.

The Boeing 757 is a medium range narrow body passenger airliner. It was the successor to the B727, with the same fuselage cross section, but the airframe was redesigned with underwing fan engines. The 757 was developed in tandem with the 767.
