The Challenger 600 series are medium to long range wide-body corporate jets. The original design was by Bill Lear and produced first by Canadair until that company was bought by Bombardier Aerospace in 1986.

Based on an original design by Bill Lear of Learjet fame, was taken over and developed by Canadair. The 600 version was restricted by lack of power.
