The Dash 8 is a twin engine turboprop short range regional airliner. Developed in the 1970s in response to a demand for 30-40 seater commuter airliners. Since developed into a family of aircraft of increasing size and capability.

Announced in 1992, delivered from 1995, the -200 has more powerful engines that increase cruising speed, with better hot and high performanve. Since 1996 delivered with noise suppression system as the Dash 8Q.
