The DC-8 is a medium to long range 4 engined airliner. It was the first jet powered airliner from Douglas, and the USA's second successful jet airliner after the Boeing 707. It was developed into many variants of differing ranges and capacities.
The DC-8 series -21 was the second distinct version of the DC-8, it was a slightly upgraded version of the series 10, with more powerful engines that improved range and hot and high performance.
