- English Electric Lightning F3 XP765 saw active service in Singapore and then at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, it however spent the longest period in the UK at RAF Binbrook. Now on display for 10 years at RAF Coningsby when it will be moved to a Museum

The prototype aircraft were known as the P.1. The First Lightning was delivered to the RAF in 1960 as the F1. Various upgrades and modifications resulted over the years which resulted in many versions.
