The Duxford D-Day Anniversary Air Show commemorated the 70th anniversary of this decisive military campaign, demonstrating the vital role that aerial warfare played in the invasion of Normandy.
The air show featured fighter, bomber and transport aircraft types that would have been seen over the beaches of France. The grand finale to the D-Day Anniversary Air Show was a display by four Douglas C-47 Skytrains, two of which had flown over from the USA to take part.
