Image Description:
Baseleg runway 17 during a spectacular visual approach in crystal clear weather, but with some massive turbulence due to the high terrain and strong winds rolling down the huge mountains. The airport of Quito is located in the middle of the city and at an elevation of 9300ft above sealevel, resulting in very high approach speeds, long landingrun and a huge turn radius. Quite a demanding airport and a captains-only landing due to its difficulty. Perhaps one of the most demanding airports in the world.
