Image Description:
This is the prototype Westland Widgeon a single engined parasol monoplane which was first flown on 22nd September 1924, and shown here as No.6 in the Light Aeroplane Competitions held bt the Air Ministry at Lympne. Powered by a 35hp Blackburne Thrush engine. This aircraft sideslipped into the ground a few days after this photo was taken on 27th September, so did not do terribly well.
